朝と夜は半袖ではまだ少し肌寒いですが、彦根もようやっと暖かくなりました。今が私の一番お気に入りの季節です：)
さて、先日5月11日(水)に今年度第1回目のDANWASHITSUが行われました。
『Charity DANWASHITSU』というタイトルのように、いつものDANWASHITSUではなく、東日本大震災を受けての特別企画でした。３・１１から2ヶ月。被災地の復興には相当の時間と労力が必要とされている現在、全国各地いや世界各地のたくさんの人がその支援活動のため動いています。その姿は、テレビや新聞、インターネットなど様々なメディアによって発信され、私もその様子をうかがっておりました。
報道される被災地の映像や写真は、見ていて涙が出そうになるほど、つらく、「私には何ができるのだろう。とりあえず、何か動かなくては。」と気持ちが焦りました。しかし、何をして良いのか、また何が出来るのかもわからず。ただただ、無力感を感じてしまいました。
DANWASHITSUは、滋賀県立大学内で11年間、講演会を企画し、議論を交わすことで、学年を縦につなぐとともに社会との接点を作ってきました。
今回の東日本大震災を受けて、DANWASHITSUは、建築を学ぶ学生に今何ができるのか、またはこれから何ができるのかについて考える機会を作り、教員・学生が議論することで活動のきっかけになれたらと考えました。
前置きが長くなりましたが、当日、滋賀県立大学建築棟談話室には、今回も、大学を越えて多くの学生が集まりました。東北大震災を受けて活動を起こしている滋賀県立大学の教員、学生団体によるレクチャー＋座談会の形式で、学生総勢78人と先生7人と、食べ物、お酒を交えて、充実した時間を過ごしました。
松岡先生のレクチャーでは、被災地の現況の写真をスライドで写しながら、先生が感じ、考えたことを聞かせていただきました。
同じ被災地でも、津波で跡形も無く街がなくなってしまった地域と津波の被害を受けていない地域との温度差には非常に驚く。むしろ、被災地以外の地域(私達外に住む人間)が頑張れる・頑張るべきなのかも知れないとおっしゃっておられ、使命感を感じました。
また、先生の仮設住宅のモデルプランを見せていただきました。こういう非常事態にこそ、建築家としての技術が生かされるべきなんだと実感しました。
陶器先生は高橋工業応援団として気仙沼へ通っておられます。その報告と、これから動こうと考えておられる活動についてお話をされました。
津波で何もかもがなくなってしまって、それでも何とかできることから一歩づつ着実に前へ進もうとしておられる、高橋社長の力強い姿。また、その社長を全力で応援しておられる陶器先生の建築家としての姿に、勇気と希望をいただきました。
森田先生からは、震災後被災地の状況をtwitterを使って情報発信しておられる 、被災された福島県の建築家佐藤敏宏氏を応援をされている事に関してレクチャーいただきました。京都で若手の建築家で集まって、佐藤氏の活動を支持、支援されているということで、離れても出来る復興支援活動のひとつの形であり、インターネット、ブログの充実により、情報社会の現在なら、阪神の震災時とはまた違った形での復興支援が可能なのだと感じました。
最後のレクチャーは加子母木匠塾代表のM１上西さんから、宮城大学の番屋プロジェクトの報告でした。
番屋プロジェクトとは、「生活の復興と産業の復興は同時。仮設住宅だけではなく、仮設産業施設も必要。」というスローガンの下、宮城県の南三陸町の志津川で漁業再開に必要な番屋の建設を行っているものです。
今年の加子母木匠塾はそちらの復興支援を行うということで、現在進行中なのですが、その資金としての義捐金を一口500円で座談会終了後に呼びかけ（17750円集まりました。ご協力いただきありがとうございました。）、今回のDANWASHITSUは幕を閉じました。
時間に限りがあり、学生からの質問があまり受け付けられなかったことに関して、反省が残ります。
先生方のように技術や経験の無い学生が、本当にただ気持ちだけをもって実際に現地へ入ることは、被災者の方々に必要とされているのか。かえって迷惑になることはないのか。と日頃から少し気になっていたことを私がひとつ質問させていただきました。
「力になりたい。その思いは必ず伝わる。」と現地で活動されている陶器先生にその言葉をいただけたことは非常にうれしく、自信を持って頑張ろう。と思えました。
また、宮城大学竹内研究室の番屋プロジェクトに参加された山根先生からは、どんな支援活動を起こすにしろ、よく準備、計画をして望まなければならないとのご指導も頂きました。
このような特別企画はDANWASHITSUにとっても初めての試みだったため、運営等において至らない点が多々あり、ご迷惑をおかけしすみませんでした。当日、開演前にごたついてしまい、椅子が足りず、立ったままで聴講して頂いた学生、会場の情報に一部誤りがあり、困惑させてしまった学生の方々には深くお詫び申し上げます。今後、いろいろな面での改善をDANWASHITSU一同、努力してまいりますので、今後ともどうぞ宜しくお願いいたします。
しかし、この会を執り行えた事に対して、DANWASHITSUとして、また、いち学生として、私自身とても意義を感じております。みなさまのおかげです。ありがとうございました。
